Edmonds will start the season on the DL

The Padres finally pulled the trigger on a decision that places Jim Edmonds on the DL to start the season. This really didn't come as a shock to anyone following the situation, especially considering the rest of the OFer's involved, and the contractual situations surrounding a few of them.

This move cleared the way for the 25man roster to finally be set, and it looks like this.....

Pitcher include Jake Peavy, Chris Young, Greg Maddux, Randy Wolf, Justin Germano, Joe Thatcher, Cla Meredith, Wil Ledezma, Heath Bell, Trevor Hoffman, Glendon Rusch and Enrique Gonzalez.

Position players include catchers Josh Bard and Michael Barrett, infielders Callix Crabbe, Adrian Gonzalez, Tony Clark, Tadahito Iguchi, Khalil Greene, Kevin Kouzmanoff and outfielders Brian Giles, Scott Hairston, Paul McAnulty, Justin Huber and Jody Gerut.

Bud Black told a local radio station, when interviewed yesterday, that he is leaning towards starting Paul McAnulty in LF on opening day vs. Roy Oswalt. I'd say this is PMac's final chance to show this organization what his value is, either as a 4th-5th OFer or not. If he doesn't stick in the next 5 days, while Edmonds is on the DL, it's not likely he's apart of this organization come day 6.

Good luck PMac.....

GO PADS !!!
