Edmonds is still a question mark to play Opening Day, but today he took a major step forward in working on making that a reality. The OF of the Padres is still up in the air, and it seems to be directly revolving around the CF position now. The Padres roster is down to 26 players and it seems that it will be 25 if/when he's ok'd to start.
Edmonds, out since March 6 with a strained right calf, played in a Minor League game on Wednesday and had three hits, including a home run. The Padres have until Sunday night to decide if Edmonds will open the season on the field or the disabled list.
I think PMac's future in a Padres jersey hinges on what happens with Edmonds over the next 24 hours.
