Germano Excellent but Padres lose

Padres lose series opener to the Dodgers 7-1

Justin Germano was outstanding in his 6 innings of work, giving up just 1 earned run, and 3 hits, but the bullpen can't say the same. In the 7th inning the B-squad bullpen took over, and when all was said and done they had allowed the Dodgers to put up 6 runs, which was the difference in the game.

Kouzmanoff made his 2nd error of the year, and now speculation about Chase Headley taking over 3rd base is starting to swirl around again. Some are wondering if the Front Office chose the right guy to be moved to the OF. Chase Headley is widely recognized as a superior fielder at 3rd, but last year Kouz all but cemented his place on this team. If he keeps making errors on routine plays though, I'm not sure he's going to weather this storm now that Chase is ready to go.
