Padres blow shot at Sweep over Giants

Padres lose 4-3

Randy Wolf once again had a very good start wasted by the bullpen, or you could say was rescued by the offense, only to have that wasted by the bullpen. Wolf went 6 strong, K-ing 5, scattering 4 hits and giving up only 1 walk. He left the game on the hook for the loss, but in the 8th the Padres scratched across a run to tie it up forcing extra innings.

In the 10th inning AGon put the Padres on top with a two run blast to deep CF, and it looked like the Padres would take the sweep. Adrian is poised to have a monster season and already has 50 RBI !

Enter Trevor Hoffman who had saved 8 straight and appeared to have returned to his dominant form. But that was not to be the case this night. Trevor quickly gave up two hits, and with the count full, served up a 2 run game tying triple to Lewis. With first base open and the game winning run now at 3rd, Castillo grounded to Edgar Gonzalez, who seemed to not know where to go with the ball.

Game over !
